1. What do you love most about living in your city/town?
I have lived in Youngsville for 8 years now, and have found that small town charm that I had growing up as a child. Everybody knows your name and are so kind and welcoming. Youngsville has grown since I first moved here, but it does have some charming little boutiques and restaurants. I am also not too far from Hill Ridge Farms, which is just the best place to go whether with friends or family and spend the day.
2. What are the best things about your neighborhood?
I do not have a neighborhood persay, but I do have some great neighbors. Very quiet and very friendly. If you ever needed anything, they would be there for you. NO HOA fees, so that is a bonus. 🙂
3. What are a few of your favorite LOCAL restaurants or shops?
I love the Yacht Club Beverage House, which is new in Youngsville. It is a great place to go if you enjoy craft beer. Burnt Barrel is another great place to go with friends and enjoy the food trucks, live bands and of course the beer. The Tin Pig is a great little boutique in the center of Youngsville. They have a lot of vintage items and antiques and I could spend hours in there. Let’s not forget Griffin’s Restaurant on Main Street. It has been there for years and they serve some of the best Southern cooking around.
4. What are some of the best nearby conveniences?
I am not directly in the town of Youngsville, which is nice to be away from the hustle and bustle. I am literally 8 minutes from the town of Youngsville and about 15 minutes away from Wake Forest. Wake Forest has so many great places to eat as well, like Gatehouse Tavern and the Farm Table. You can get to Louisburg in 14 minutes. I am right off of 98 Highway so Raleigh is only about 30 minutes away via US-401.
5. What are your favorite things about your home?
I call my home my little cottage in the woods. I enjoy the peace and quiet and there is nothing better than sitting out on the huge back deck with a cup of coffee and the fire pit going. If you love nature and trees and being outside/gardening, my house is the place to be. I feel safe in my home and it almost feels like it is tucked away but not so far away that you need a golf cart to check the mail. 🙂 The long gravel driveway gives it the feel of not being too close to the road, but close enough that in the Spring and Summer months, all of your blooming flowers can be seen. The front porch is covered, so that makes a nice little nook to sit and read a good book and just relax. You can make the backyard literally whatever you want it to be, and is basically a blank canvas to turn into your own private oasis away from city life.
