Wake Forest Resident Says:
1. What do you love most about Wake Forest? Living in Wake Forest, I find that we get to experience the small town and large city benefits, without having to be in the heart of a large city. There is a definite sense of community, neighbors get to know one another & community events abound. Wake Forest is just a quick drive into Raleigh, Durham, and even Chapel Hill, giving opportunity to utilize the shopping, dining, cultural & sporting activities that are offered. It’s also great to be close enough to the area beaches that you can sneak off for a day trip; the mountains aren’t too far either making a weekend getaway easy to do!
2. What are a few of your favorite LOCAL restaurants and shops? As a community, Wake Forest really does a great job of supporting smaller, local businesses. Sure, we have the big box stores and chain restaurants and we are also fortunate enough to have locally owned eateries, such as Main Street Grille, Over the Falls (may I recommend the Table Rock?) , Village Deli and many others! For the foodies out there, I encourage you to visit Virgilio’s, a specialty shop offering oils, vinegars & wine! For that special gift you need, be sure to check out the local vendors & artists at The Cotton Company. Have a sweet tooth? I’ll bet you find what you are looking for at Sweetie’s Candy Shop. Just look for the floating bubbles from the bubble machine and you’ll know you found it!
3. What are some of the best nearby conveniences? As mentioned above, we have lots of small, locally owned businesses and the conveniences of the big box stores and chain restaurants. We’ve got Walmart, Super Target, a couple of Harris Teeters and Lowe’s Foods within a 5-10 minute drive of this neighborhood. We’ve also got Chili’s, Red Robin, Buffalo Brothers, Applebee’s and so many others right here in Wake Forest. There is no need to head into Raleigh when we have so much offered right here at home.
