1. What do you love most about living in your city/town?
I have lived many places throughout life. Wake Forest is by far my favorite place to call home. This town is the perfect combination of small town feel and big city living, Wake Forest has maintained southern charm while providing residents with ample shopping, dining, cultural and recreational experiences. To me, it’s the ideal combination!
2. What are the best things about your neighborhood?
Vernon Park is a wonderful community of neighbors who all care deeply for one another but still maintain boundaries that are comfortable for all. The neighborhood is small enough that you will get to know everyone on the street. Residents here are a mix of young couples, families, and older couples as well. It has been a true pleasure making such life-long friends here in Vernon Park. Because the neighborhood is small, there are many social events that take place. We have been known to enjoy progressive dinners, block parties, outdoor movie nights, and great sledding parties when we are lucky enough to get some snow. It has been a true joy to live here in this warm and loving neighborhood.
3. What are a few of your favorite LOCAL restaurants or shops?
Wow – not only does Wake Forest have some amazing shops and restaurants, but many of them are within walking distance of 231 Kinvara Ct. It is an easy walk to White Street where you can enjoy the “Friday Night on White” event once a month with outdoor music, food trucks, etc… Some of our local favorites are “Over the Falls” and “Leli’s Diner” . Both of these restaurants use local produce and ingredients to create new menu items frequently. Wake Forest also offers some amazing shopping, also within walking distance. The Cotton Company on White Street is a favorite. It is a cotton mill that has been renovated and turned into boutique shops. This is a great place to find some unusual gift items. Whenever we have company I make an afternoon on White Street with shopping, great food, and some coffee at Wake Forest Coffee where I am always greeted by name.
4. What are some of the best nearby conveniences?
Wake Forest now has everything you might need within a 3 minute drive! Medical offices, an abundance of grocery stores including some that are not found in other parts of the state, recreational facilities such as “The Factory“, movies, retail shopping, – we have it all. Our family also loves that we are very nearby some wonderful outdoor activities. The Wake Forest Reservoir is 2 minutes away and provides great fishing, canoeing, etc…
5. What are your favorite things about your home?
We have absolutely adored 231 Kinvara Ct. We love that this is a custom home and you will not find another one like it anywhere. The home is filled with upgrades such as cherry blinds (even in the garage), wonderful newly refinished hardwoods, and interesting architectural details throughout. We love the open floor plan as well. Perhaps our favorite feature of the home is the screened in porch on the back that overlooks the woods. This has been a favorite for our family and I think we have eaten more meals outside than in. This home is serene and calm. It is tucked away just enough so that you feel you are escaping the chaos of the world. It has been a joy to spend a season of our lives in this beautiful environment.
