This house is perfect for the buyer who is truly looking for a home. This home boasts all of the features you’d expect in a luxury house, including a kitchen with Hardwoods, custom raised panel cabinets, under cabinet lighting, granite countertops, tile backsplash, center island & French doors leading to the main deck. The master bedroom is truly a retreat with it’s lighted trey ceiling, corner gas log fireplace & huge custom designed closets. What you can’t see in the photos are the moments that make a life; Enjoying coffee at the kitchen table while watching the birds bathe every morning, even at 40 degrees. The sound and sight of the Lion’s Head Cafe’ (red umbrella). The breathtakingly beautiful azaleas, along with pink and white dogwoods in the spring. Sunlight splashing through the house, even on gray days. The tall window in the living room is so warm and inviting in the summer and the snow is beautiful in the winter. The front porch and its privacy. The secluded seat in the woods-an island in the community. And then there’s the practical stuff: 12 minutes to RDU airport, one-half mile from Leesville Schools, close proximity to Leesville Park. This is more than a house, this is a home with so much to offer the next family who is lucky enough to live here!
Relative to Washington, DC, the weather is much more pleasant, the traffic (though noticeable) does not compare, and the people are very friendly and wonderful. We love the ballet and the museum.2. What are the best things about your neighborhood?
My church, Tabernacle Baptist, is a quarter mile away and Rev. Dane Hadley, my Spirit filled pastor is great. Oaks at Westlake neighborhood includes 37 single homes each with from 0 to 4 children; there are double cul-de-sac streets that are the play grounds for the children – Russling Leaf Lane and Oakthorne Way. Generally, the only vehicles on the two streets are homeowners. School buses come on to Russling Leaf Lane to pickup and drop off children. The three Leesville schools are less than a mile away — Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. In addition, there is the 57.6 acre Leesville Park which, when complete, will be entered from Russling Leaf Lane. Currently available are one greenway trail, children’s play ground, and the Library. The community center and more trails are yet to come.3. What are a few of your favorite restaurants or shops? There are several restaurants we frequent in Briar Creek; our favorite is, Bella Monica, on Edwards Mill Road.4. What are some of the best nearby conveniences? There are three major shopping centers within 15 minutes – Briar Creek, South Point, and Triangle Town Center. In addition, within a one mile radius from the house, we can go to several drug stores, Harris Teeter grocery stores, Lowes Building Supplies, Target Shopping, hair salons, Raleigh Grande Theatre, and Harmony health foods.5. What are your favorite things about your home? The things that sold us on the house are the kitchen and the master bedroom/bath/closet. The closet is 18’ x 12’ spectacularly designed by “Closets by Design.” The Jack and Jill bedrooms were efficient as business offices for us. As soon as we moved in, we used Davis Landscaping to create privacy without a wooden fence. The mature landscaping is now beautiful. We enjoyed our beautiful patio – grilling and eating our meals, watching the birds at the feeders and bird baths, and visiting with the neighborhood children as they played hide and seek in our bushes. We loved the large wooded area with pine, oak, maple, redbud, dogwood trees and large white, pink, and red azalea bushes. We hosted several neighborhood parties at the house. It was fantastic for both large and small gatherings. Of course, the huge attic is special because it holds tons and tons of “stuff.”
