- What do you love most about Raleigh?
We love that Raleigh provides big city shopping, restaurants and cultural activities with a small town feel. Also, the downtown restaurants and nightlife are terrific. And, as great as Raleigh itself is, we enjoy its centralized location with short driving distances to ocean beaches, mountain getaways and Washington, D.C.
- What are the best things about your neighborhood?
Bedford is a wonderful planned neighborhood with frequent community events and social activities. The clubhouse has two pools and tennis courts that are within easy walking distance. Bedford also has four playgrounds and over 26 miles of sidewalks. On an average Saturday, the sidewalks are crowded with families and children out enjoying seasonal activities. We particularly appreciate that our home is just a block from the Raleigh Greenway along the Neuse River with its extensive hiking/biking paths and picturesque views.
- What are a few of your favorite LOCAL restaurants or shops?
There are many excellent restaurants and shops nearby, but our favorites include the Nantucket Grill, Uncorked Wine Bar, Wakefield Wine Cellar and Rita’s specialty gift shop. Of course, Bedford has its own shops within the community, including a bar & grill, a spa, and day care.
- What are some of the best nearby conveniences?
In addition to the Bedford shops, our home is just 10 minutes from Triangle Town Center, 20 minutes from Crabtree Valley Mall, 15 minutes from popular Capital shopping locations, and 15 minutes from Wake Forest’s quaint downtown. There are also four different grocery stores within a five-minute drive. There’s definitely no shortage of conveniences here!
- What are your favorite things about your home?
This home is excellent for hosting parties and family gatherings. The huge kitchen with its expansive island and large adjoining rooms provide ideal entertaining flow. Another great feature is the private deck and yard that back up to a dense protected woodland area. We enjoy watching a wonderful variety of birds, deer and other wildlife. We also have a huge unfinished basement that is perfect for storage as well as hobbies and games like woodworking and ping-pong. In addition, the way the five bedrooms are laid out makes the master suite an exceptionally private retreat.
